How weighted grades are calculated

Each category’s contribution to the final grade is directly proportional to its assigned weight — the Final Exam here, weighted at 50%, contributes more than twice as much as the Midterm (weighted 30%) even though its raw percentage grade (91%) isn’t dramatically higher than the Midterm’s (82%).
