How do I calculate a 20% tip in my head? ›
Move the decimal one place left to get 10% of the bill, then double it. Example: $65 bill → 10% = $6.50 → double = $13.00 tip. For 15%, find 10% and add half: $6.50 + $3.25 = $9.75.
Should I tip on the pre-tax or post-tax amount? ›
